Key Goals for this Meeting

  1. To review ELAG terms of reference and 2017 work plan
  2. For ELAG Members to report on SNOMED CT education activities, plans, priorities and new requirements in each country.
  3. For SNOMED International to report on SNOMED CT education activities, including:
    • Delivery of existing SNOMED CT eLearning courses,
    • Progress on open access availability of eLearning materials,
    • Development of draft eLearning pathways for software developers and information analysts,
    • Other plans and current priorities.

The chair will invite each Member representative to provide a report on the following SNOMED CT education topics for their country:

  • New or planned SNOMED CT education activities,
  • Plans or progress in localising SNOMED CT education material,
  • Feedback on existing SNOMED CT eLearning experiences,
  • Country-specific SNOMED CT priorities and requirements.

Please notify the chair in advance if you plan to present slides for this agenda item.

    I will not be able to attend the ELAG meeting cause of other concurrent meetings. But I will try to provide the report on the SNOMED CT education topics for Belgium.

    Good morning Linda, I am afraid I have to tender my apology for this meeting. The Ministry has currently no provision for supporting a delegate to attend the ELearning group events. This might change in the future, however. My report will be submitted shortly.

      Thanks very much for letting us know Aleksandar! I'm sorry you're not able to attend, but appreciate you sending an update on SNOMED activity in New Zealand. If you have any feedback on the pilot courses we have posted, please let us know. Thanks!

    The short report on the  2017 plans as follows:

    2017 aim: Increase utilisation of SNOMED CT ELearning resources by the country's tertiary education providers

    The tasks:

    • Increase awareness of the SNOMED CT ELearning courses and the underpinning resources (ELearning material)
    • Communicate the quality and value of the available SNOMED CT ELearning resources
    • Inform the tertiary educators on their options to use SNOMED CT ELearning material

    Practical step towards achieving the task: Provide SNOMED CT seminars for educators in all major education centers across the country. The seminar proposal has been communicated to the Ministry where it will be considered in June 2017

    Linda please apologize us but We can´t participate during this meeting in the ELAG.      Uruguay continue rising the learning and use of SNOMED CT.     We increased the number of participants in local workshops and we continue working and supporting local organizations and Universities that are interested in the use of SNOMED CT.
