Blog from November, 2016

We have recently received indirect requests from some Members for E-Learning statistics. These statistics will be provided routinely and efficiently by Louise if you send your request to elearning@ihtsdo.org where it can be tracked and processed. Requests for these statistics must be from a National Member ELAG representative or a Member Forum representative. The E-Learning reports we produce for Members are in a standard spreadsheet form covering all three formal courses. Requests sent by less direct routes or asking for specific data are liable to be delayed or misinterpreted. Please help us to help you by using the elearning@ihtsdo.org email address and simply requesting the E-Learning Member Statistics for <your country>.  Thank you.

Following responses to the Doodle Poll the next meetings of ELAG have been scheduled for 13th December. There will be two meetings with an identical agenda 09:00-10:00 UTC and 21:00-22:00 UTC. Please choose the one of these times that fits best with your timezone and schedule. Please do not plan to attend both meetings as we will be seeking advice on the same topics in both sessions. Thank you.

Group members are requested to respond to the poll for the next E-Learning AG teleconference. You should have received an email invitation but just in case you did not get this please use the following link to participate in the poll https://ihtsdo.doodle.com/poll/4nm7yb9fdngmebxf. Thank you.

Please note that we will be considering applications for the SNOMED CT Implementation and Content Development Theory courses shortly. The deadline for consideration for this cycle is 15th November 2016 midnight Pacific Time (08:00 UTC on the following day). Applications received by that date will be considered for the January and/or May 2017 intakes to these courses. Applications must be submitted using the relevant forms on the E-Learning Server. Applicants must have completed the Foundation course before applications can be submitted or considered.

As from November 1st 2016 students can now self-enroll on the SNOMED CT Foundation course and can then start the course without any delays.

After enrolling, the student must complete a registration form as the first course activity. They can then start the course without waiting until the start of a new intake and can take the course at their own pace (subject to completion within a four month period). Students who do not complete within four months will usually be offered an extension period. However, extensions are discretionary and may not be offered if demand for the course is running close to capacity.

This should remove yet another barrier that may otherwise delay students wishing to take this SNOMED CT E-Learning Course.
