Mapping jobs taking even longer overnight now, so Chris + Rick to investigate and confirm what the fix needs to be... (potentially related to back end upgrade a couple of months ago)

  • MySQL is usig up way too much memory and overrunning the server memory - Chris' changes helped some (swap memory no longer maxed), but STILL at 80% and so definitely not resolved yet....
  • Rick therefore is concerned that this is not resolved and so we need to shepherd the process through tonight (bounce SQL during the mapping process)
  • HOWEVER, as Donna is away this month, we have already shut down the Mapping promotions a week early, in order to prevent impact to Michael.
    • Therefore, even if the process runs longer than usual again tomorrow, it won't have the normal painful impact on the mapping team.
    • AAT and Rick therefore agreed to let things run themselves with no intervention this time around, to see exactly what kind of positive impact Chris' changes have had on the times.
    • If they're still bad, we'll look at more mitigation measures in May's release...
