Implement the SNOMED CT Enabled Architecture

The fifth step in the process is to implement your system with SNOMED CT, the key of this step is to decide the right procurement strategy and to involve all interested parties in the process.

Implementation strategy

1. Implement a local development, procure a system or a combination
1. Design, develop and test, in agile, iterative cycles
2. Define the criteria to decide if to procure an existing, a new, or a customized system
2. Engage all stakeholders
1. Involve a multi-disciplinary team
1. Clinicians, system architects, software designers, developers, management, clinical researchers, user experience designers, data security experts
2. Work with clinical champions, selected from the user community
3. Communicate benefits and listen to feedback
4. Implement a user training and support system
