  1. Thanks Aiyin Chen for the following question on email: "Is there a comprehensive list of glaucoma-related SNOMED “signs” or exam findings in a spreadsheet or table? I find it hard to search through the SNOMED CT online and worry that we may be missing things. Elaine, if you have a list like that, could you send it to us?".

  2. Elaine Wooler Jane Millar - maybe you have some guidance here?

    1. Hi Anthony Khawaja

There is no single root concept or associated RefSet for concepts that will cover the signs or exam findings of glaucoma at the international level.  However it might be worth asking other members if they have a refset at a national level.  Though it would need to be in a human-readable form for your purpose.  We could ask this question to be raised at Member Forum which is a confluence area that includes representatives from all member countries.  Jane Millar could you raise this please?

Alternatively if there are key anatomical structures involved I may be able to query the descendants of 118235002 |Eye / vision finding (finding)| using those structures but this won't be complete.

  3. In the meantime, is there a way I can confidentially share a file that Medisoft shared with me, with a list of their examination findings mapped to SNOMED terms?

  4. Thanks Elaine Wooler .  I will let Sally Baxter decide how the "Signs team" want to best do this.  Ian Green - can I confidentially share a spreadsheet of Medisoft mapped examination findings?  I think it is reasonable for this group to use, but they would probably prefer if it was not publicly accessible or distributed.

  5. Hi Anthony Khawaja if ok from Medisoft to share that file with me directly, that would be great. We have a list from Epic that we mapped to SNOMED (and found gaps) and also I recently found out a colleague of mine at USC has finished mapping basic exam elements from the Cerner EHR to OMOP/SNOMED as well. We can use those 3 EHR vendors as a starting point to see what data elements are commonly in EHRs related to glaucoma and not currently represented in SNOMED. So far we have been doing this using the OHDSI Athena browser. Then, if we do find areas where we think there are gaps, perhaps we could then send these to Elaine or Ian and see if maybe there were ones that were actually represented but for some reason we didn't find them in our initial search. I think that would be a reasonable way to start.

  6. That sounds like a good plan.  Sally Baxter - I will email you the list separately...
