Review and approve or suggest changes to modeling.

The modeling was reviewed for the following concepts:

Central adiposity

  • Concerns with this being linked with obesity as one could have central adiposity without being overweight.
  • Needs further investigation and possibly within a Body composition or Body fat finding area within SNOMED CT.
  • Significant overlap of Central obesity (finding) with the child of Android obesity (finding).
  • Body weight measure (attribute) is not correct. Other measures of waist circumference, waist hip ratio are more appropriate for defining the NCPT concept.
  • Unclear how SNOMED CT addresses concepts that can be associated with multiple observables.
  • Fat body with thin limbs, as one of the synonyms, is not clear.

Anorexia

  • Modeling appears accurate.
  • CPG suggestion is to provide SNOMED CT with feedback about the use of 'off food' as a synonym. This is not clear and colloquial use.

Loss of subcutaneous fat overlying the rib

  • Modeling contains finding site subcutaneous fatty tissue, which is non-specific.
  • Site of Structure of subcutaneous fatty tissue of thoracic cage/rib is more appropriate, and requires submission to SNOMED CT.

Physical inactivity

  • Modeling (Exercise below recommended) is inconsistent with NCPT reference sheet, which appears to be more consistent with SNOMED concept Sedentary behavior.
  • Need to finish discussion to determine if Sedentary behavior is the best match.
  • May need to provide feedback to NCPROC about concept if modeling is Sedentary behavior and whether or not the NCPT reference sheet is consistent with that decision.

There was not sufficient time to review Content related nutrition education, so this will be reviewed on the next meeting.
