SNOMED CT Mapping Tools allow users to create and maintain mappings between SNOMED CT and other code systems , e.g. local codes, billing codes, statistical classifications, to support a wide range of implementation use cases, e.g. migration to SNOMED CT, data integration, reporting..

SNOMED CT implementations require mappings to/from SNOMED CT for a wide range of reasons, includingMost SNOMED CT implementations will use some kind of mapping with existing terminologies in particular use cases, for example:

  • To submit statistical reports using classifications, like ICD-10
  • To interact with generate codes from procedures vocabularies used for billing
  • To support data interoperability and data integration
  • To enable advanced data analytics over existing data
  • To use national medication ids identifiers in the electronic prescriptions prescribing process
  • To allow the user to select terms from a local interface terminology and code with SNOMED CT
  • etc.

  • record this using SNOMED CT

The tools in this section help the users implementers to create and publish cross maps, applying a revision process and quality assurance rulesmanage maps to/from SNOMED CT.
