Greetings to our mapping community! On the threshold to the new year, we're excited to roll out the latest updates in Snap2Snomed.

The tool (https://snap.snomedtools.org) continues to stand as SNOMED International’s freely available tool for collaborative mapping from diverse code systems to SNOMED CT. A range of new features are now available, increasing the efficiency and accuracy of the mapping process.

Here's a quick rundown of the key enhancements:

  • Dual Author Mode with Reconciliation: Collaborate seamlessly in dual author mode, ensuring mapping accuracy through easy reconciliation.
  • Replacement of Inactive Concepts: Effortlessly update mappings by replacing inactive concepts.
  • Display Concept Definitions: Gain clarity while mapping by directly accessing concept definitions within the tool.
  • Enhanced Export Format: Customize exports with multiple columns and notes for greater flexibility.
  • Export to FHIR ConceptMap: Boost interoperability by exporting mappings to FHIR ConceptMap.
  • Simplified Login Process: Access Snap2SNOMED more swiftly with a streamlined login procedure

We are pleased to announce that the call for abstracts for the SNOMED CT Expo 2023 is now open. We invite all interested parties to submit abstracts and share their experiences and results about the implementation and ongoing work with SNOMED CT.

By disseminating your results and experiences, we can collectively learn and advance the use of SNOMED CT with the objective of improving the quality of care and services for patients and users.
