Editorial Decision

In cases of such inconsistencies, there should be an overall decision of which description to use for this anatomical structure. This decision can be made in the translation of the body structure hierarchy or in an editorial decision list from the translation project owner.

Content Request Service (CRS) Submission

The NRC should submit the issue in the Content Request Service (CRS) to SNOMED International.

Proposal/Outcome

In Norway, the translation of the body structure hierarchy was done first to determine which anatomical terms to be used in the disorder hierarchy: nervus vestibulocochlearis as preferred term (in addition to other synonyms). Thus the translation of the body site of 93660000 |Primary malignant neoplasm of acoustic nerve (disorder)| into Norwegian was nervus vestibulocochlearis, not a term based on acoustic nerve.
