The purpose of this section is to clearly and unambiguously define the meaning of each of the existing and proposed "Association Types". For historical and completeness purposes all of the currently available associations have been included.
Each association type has been allocated 2 Confluence pages. The first, "XXX association type - Discussion" intends to fully explore the reasons for its existence, current and historical uses of and proposals for changes to the way in which this association type should be used. Where the data shows that this association type has not been used and there is no proposed future use, this will be stated and the second Confluence page will not exist.
The second Confluence page "XXX association type - Editorial Guide" is intended to give a concise statement of the proposed use of this association type going forward. Where this differs from current usage policy this will be stated and following feedback and agreement this will form part of the Editorial Guide and training material.
It should be noted that many of the existing inactivation rules and processes including those proposed are predicated upon the belief that the meaning of any given concept is embodied in the FSN.
