Request Vs Task

Types of requests and suggested fields of each type of request

1. New Concept

DefinitionA text definition for the new concept that you are proposing. Although the FSN should uniquely and adequately describe the term, adding a more elaborate text definition could sometimes help in understanding what exactly the concept represents. For example, here is a text definition added on this FSN: "Eosinophilic pustular folliculitis (disorder)"
 A dermatosis with pruritic sterile papules and pustules that come together to form plaques with papulovesicular borders, and a tendency toward central clearing and hyperpigmentation, with spontaneous exacerbations and remissions. Histologically variable with folliculitis of follicle sheath and perifollicular dermis and spongiosis of follicular epithelium, sometimes with peripheral leukocytosis and or eosinophilia and or eosinophilic abscesses.

3. New Relationship

Source Concept IDEach relationship relates two concepts together. Source Concept ID is the ID of the first concept. For example, if you are proposing a new IS-A relationship, this is the concept ID of the proposed child.Concept IDs in SNOMED CT International Mandatory
Relationship TypeA Relationship contains Identifiers of two logically associated Concepts and the Identifier of another Concept that indicates the Relationship Type by which they are associated. This field is a drop down list for your convenience.Values in the drop down listMandatory
Destination Concept IDEach relationship relates two concepts together. Destination Concept ID is the ID of the first concept. For example, if you are proposing a new IS-A relationship, this is the concept ID of the proposed parent.Concept IDs in SNOMED CT International Mandatory
Characteristic TypeCharacteristic Type identifies whether the relationship is defining (whether a Relationship forms part of the definition of the source concept), qualifying, etc. This field is a drop down list for your convenience.Defining relationship

Relationship GroupGroups together relationships that are part of a logically associated relationship group. Multiple attributes and their values can be grouped together into “Relationship groups” to add clarity to concept definitions. Leave blank if your proposal does not include a change in Case significance. Example of entire term case sensitive: Alzheimer's disease or maladie de Lyme.
