This is a scheduled maintenance release for the Component Identifier Service (CIS), with significant changes due to the porting and migration of CIS web application services to Java 17 LTS for improved maintainability and stability.
This is also the first version to be tracked via application release notes in Confluence.
The original CIS 1 application was initially ported to Java 11 LTS as CIS 2 for early development and initial release candidate testing but subsequently migrated to Java 17 LTS as CIS 3 prior to production release (CIS 2 release candidates were not taken to production).
