  1. I am not so sure about the terming recommendation as I try to work out what the FSN might look like as proposed.  For example, using the pattern [Causative agent] [Morphology] of [Body structure] (disorder), an Staph infection associated with a retained foreign body of the eye would be "Staphylococcus retained foreign body of eye".  What we are really trying to say here is pretty complex: "Retained foreign body of eye with Infection caused by Staphylococcus".

The modeling pattern seems OK to me...

  2. Jim Case I hadn't finished with the terming, had been focused on the model. The infectious component is yet to be considered The causative agent here would be wooden splinter, glass etc...

    1. In many cases the concept only states foreign body, which to me is a physical object as opposed to a morphology; however, initial testing of creation of such a physical object and remodeling of the existing concepts unravels a very large sweater.  Might be a good candidate for a tracker?

  3. Jim Case  I was thinking a number of these changes could be done through batch work. If we make a tracker we'll need a template for now (keeping the foreign body as a morphologic abnormality) so the hierarchy can be progressed  for QI. Please let me know if you'd like me to take that approach.

    1. yes, keep it as is for now...
