Rules for description generation:

  1. Apply General rules for generating descriptions for templates
  2. 'and [substance]' needs to be added for FSN for multiple |has active ingredient| and they are self-grouped, e.g.   772188001 |Product containing only abacavir and lamivudine (medicinal product)
  3. '[substance] and' needs to be added at the beginning of the description to be added for PT for multiple |has active ingredient| and they are self grouped, e.g. Abacavir and lamivudine only product
  4. For multiple ingredients, the ingredients in each description need to be in alphabetical order e.g. Codeine and paracetamol for FSN but Acetaminophen and codeine (for US PT).

  1. Nicola Ingram The optional attributes, 766954007|Count of base and modification pair (attribute)| and 766953001|Count of active ingredient (attribute)|, need to be included. The first rule for descriptions is covered by the General rules for generating descriptions for templates;  I have updated the general rules to make them explicit about spelling variations and case significance values though they have already been implemented. If all rules are covered, we only need a link to the general rules to avoid duplication. Please see example in Template for simple template of disease

    1. Yongsheng Gao and Nicola Ingram Because we are only modeling base ingredients in the International Release I'm not sure that we need the additional attributes in the template. We have not used them to date. Additonally, they would only be used for multiple ingredient product concepts and this template is specifically for single ingredient products - right?

      1. The optional counts would rarely be used. Actually single ingredient MP/MPF only products will need additional counts when multiple modifications of the same base products are their subconcepts.

        1. Maybe I have the wrong understanding for a template but I wouldn't expect the template to account for every type of exception or special case. We don't even have editorial guidelines or examples for use of these attributes in the International Release at this time.

          1. We do need to include optional attributes for template specification. This approach will reduce the number of templates to accommodate options.

  2. Yongsheng Gao Toni Morrison Optional attributes and values added ready for re-review and move to implementation.

  3. Yongsheng Gao  The template specification has been updated to support multiple ingredients and is ready for review. Thanks.

  4. Thanks Nicola Ingram, reviewed, and it is ready for technical implementation.

  5. Yongsheng Gao  Template is ready for review prior to sending to the tech team for publication.

    1. Hi Nicola Ingram  I have updated the format for cardinality and added template language. Please let me know if any further changes are needed.

  6. Thanks Yongsheng Gao no further changes required.
