  1. Hi Bruce Goldberg  Can we generalise this template for any disease due to and following event? As I remember, disease due to event is not considered as complication. Should this type of concept be placed under complication and sequela? Cheers, Yong

  2. Hi Yongsheng Gao.  According to our editorial guidelines:

"Complication = a disorder caused by another disorder, procedure or event which is not a natural progression or expected outcome of its cause; and temporally may be AFTER or DURING the cause".

I made the Complication parent cardinality 0..1 because I am now thinking that for the case of food poisoning, the poisoning would be a natural progression of consuming contaminated food. The cardinality for Sequela should remain 1..1

    1. Bruce Goldberg , We have a separate template for complication due to disorder/procedure. Should we remove Complication from the template? I am not sure about when it would be used.

  3. Complication removed from template.
