The following sections describe the syntax used by the SNOMED CT Compositional Grammar expression language. This syntax is a serialised representation of the logical model presented in the previous chapter 4, and is therefore logically equivalent. While alternative syntaxes are possible, the syntax presented below here is considered to be the normative standard for interoperability purposes.
