The International Edition of SNOMED CT currently has five <x> needs met (finding) concepts:
•736691007 |Social needs met (finding)|
•406530005 |Healthcare needs met by service (finding)|
•736689004 |Total care needs met (finding)|
•707744000 |Personal care needs met (finding)|
•707743006 |Activity of daily living needs met (finding)|

Looking at historical request information four concepts were part of a batch submitted by the UK in 2011. Definitions were not provided but a use care was; for use as an outcome in care planning. The fifth concept did not have an associated request. We have not had further requests for this type of content.

Looking at UK primary care high usage reports for 2011-2021, these concepts are not listed in that domain.

Questions have raised:
•Clarity of meaning e.g. personal care vs activity of daily living, inclusion of “by service”
•Is there value in this type of content?

Content tracker for issue: https://jira.ihtsdotools.org/browse/IHTSDO-160

Is this type of content used by nurses? If so, would the group please provide use cases and examples.

If the content isn’t used the plan is to inactivate the concepts and make the naming pattern <x> needs met (finding) not allowed.
