Overview

The scope of the International Family Practice subset is SNOMED CT concepts that represent terms commonly used to populate Reason for Encounter and Health Issue, two semantic data types used in the Electronic Health Record. The content of the subset covers the following: Symptoms and signs; Disorders and diseases; Results; Family history; Allergies; Adverse drug reactions; Processes and procedures and Social history.

The subsets were first released as a candidate baseline in April 2014. Changes to the structure of the subsets were made following feedback from the member community. As a result the 2 subsets were combined into one as many of the terms were in both sets.
