Goals and Objectives

The vision for the Starter Guide is for it to be a practical and useful starting point from which anyone with a general interest in healthcare information can begin learning about

Target Audience

The target audience for this Starter Guide includes people from various disciplines who may be involved at any point in the  information management cycle – from initial planning, clinical content definition and implementation through to use of the resulting clinical information. This spans people involved with planning and deciding to proceed and resource a  implementation, people involved in reference set development, terminology management, technical implementation and all aspects of deployment and use. It also includes people involved in clinical information retrieval, analyses, decision support and other aspects of knowledge representation. The characteristics common to all members of the target audience are that they have a reason for wanting to understand  and are seeking a high-level initial overview of topics of which they need to be aware. The Starter Guide does not provide in depth knowledge but does provide an informative and authoritative foundation on which to build.
