Communication

  • The NCPT CPG will engage in two-way communication between the SNOMED International Content Team and NCPT CPG members on areas relevant to SNOMED CT content development.
  • The primary routes for communications will be the NCPT CPG Confluence Space and zoom Meetings.
  • Communications to the NCPT CPG will by default, be publicly accessible on the NCPT CPG Confluence Space.

Criteria for measuring success

The key criteria for success of the NCPT CPG in 2020 will be related to the timely modelling and submission of 2020 NCPT concepts  to support the revision and updating of nutrition content of SNOMED International. The measures of success will relate to the progress of the deliverables as set out in the 2020 activities section above.

  1. Apologies for my 'late' attendance today I had taken the time from this page 'starting April 16 - at 2000 UTC' although I have now seen alternative times elsewhere.

  2. Just to confirm that there will be no meeting of this group today, 21 May. The next meeting will be confirmed

  3. Hello, all.

I would like to let you know that the mtg on June 18 will not take place.

We should regroup next on July 16th, 19:00 UTC by which time we will have received feedback/reaction

on the nutrition findings modeling document, and the revised workplan.

Stay tuned, and please take some time to look and comment on these documents (you can find a separate discussion thread for each document in discussions).

  4. HI

Please could you confirm whether there is a call on 17 December because it has been removed from my diary

    Jane

    1. Yes, we are having our mtg on Dec 17th, thank you!

  5. Can we please get an update on this project and its expected timelines?   (we have implementations in Australia asking for the content)

Has any of the modelled content been released as of yet?  if so how much/many? and what is remaining?

    thanks

    1. The Nutrition Care Process Clinical Project Group’s (NCPCPG) hard work has progressed forward over the past 18 months on the following fronts:

      • Identification of a gap in nutrient intake observables (eg, estimated intake of protein in 24 hours) in SNOMED CT necessary to support the modeling of nutrition observables and findings.
        • An intake template was created and has undergone revision twice since June 2019 and identification that 2 templates are needed for nutrient intake and nutrient intake via a specified route. Collaborative efforts with the SNOMED CT Observables group has been necessary and is ongoing.
        • A gap in the nutrient substances needed (eg, both forms of Vitamin K, now represented by Vitamin K and vitamin K derivatives whereas before only vitamin K1 existed in SNOMED CT) has been significant. There is another SNOMED CT group working on the substance hierarchy, with whom the NCP CPG has worked, to add substances to support the modeling. This work remains an area that requires additional attention to support the modeling of nutrition observables and findings.
        • With the implementation of both templates, nearly 150 nutrition concepts in SNOMED CT, and 150 yet to be added, will be sufficiently defined.
      • Review of the findings modeling has also resulted in creation of a nutrition findings template.
        • The group has reviewed the modeling of nutrient intake findings and found that the concepts are modeled to dietary intake findings, which is inconsistent with the need to express nutrient intake from foods, nutrition supplements, and enteral and parenteral nutrition.
        • An approach for all of the concepts is being put forth for consideration and, if implemented, will meet the modeling needed for nutrient intake findings and change the concepts from primitive to sufficiently defined.

For further detail on the progress, please see the Kuala Lumper presentation provided by Constantina Papoutsakis, PhD, RD. All are also welcome to review and/or join the NCP CPG meetings held on the 3rd Monday of each month at 14:00 Central US time.

  6. Hi Constantina Papoutsakis

Just to let you know, I retire from my full-time position at NHS Digital tomorrow and it looks like in the short term at least my bandwidth will not allow continued membership of this group.  My apologies.  I am not sure whether our AHP lead Katharine Priest has time to contribute actively, but I know you have representation from one of the UK professional bodies specific to the clinical area.  I wish you well in the future and hope this is an au revoir rather than goodbye, as I know these are areas very relevant to nursing too.
