• IHTSDO-455 Project (life-cycle concept editing and re-classification) will be completed by the end of this week. Several hundred concepts have had descriptions edited to clarify their status as organisms (not life-cycle staages). A number of navigation-only concepts have been retired.
• A number of findings have been created so that SCT still contains concepts representing organism structures that might be seen via microscopy (e.g. fungal hyphae). These findings are subtypes of 365690003 | Finding of presence of organism (finding).
• IHTSDO-455 is addressing description modifications intended to clarify the status of organism concepts currently classified as organism life-cycle stages and the removal of intermediate organism life-cycle stage concepts (that are clearly not organisms) from the organisms hierarchy. Subtype hierarchies that have been edited include the Phyla Nemata, Trematoda, Cestoda, Protozoa, and Fungi, Bacteria and Viruses.
• We will briefly review the results of this project. Files The zip file associated with this page are examples. At the end of the project records of this project will be collated and uploaded as spreadsheet files (likely attached to the project inception / elaboration document)contains spreadsheets documenting all the changes that were made during course of the project.

• I am looking to initiate additional projects related to the previously announced deliverables for this Project Group. I would appreciate input based on the groups perception of need.
• My suggestion is the first deliverable Clarify, simplify, and correct the top levels of the SCT Organism hierarchy (link).
• It will be necessary to convert the deliverable page into a formal inception/elaboration document before I proceed with the actual editing.
