1855002 |Developmental academic disorder (disorder)|

110359009 |Intellectual disability (disorder)|

  • 1855002 |Developmental academic disorder (disorder)| also known as Developmental learning disorder, learning disability
  • 110359009 |Intellectual disability (disorder)| also known as Intellectual development disorder

Currently these are subtypes of 129104009 |Developmental mental disorder (disorder)| and suggest they are moved to be subtypes of  700364009 |Neurodevelopmental disorder (disorder)| which is consistent with ICD-11 and DSM-5

Minute:

Agree to move as suggested.  Neurodevelopmental occurs in the developmental period, usually up to 18.  Difficult to model these as for most the mechanism is unknown.

Review of MH specialties

Review of mental health specialties that are subtypes of 394658006 |Clinical specialty (qualifier value)|

Also look at mental health content under 224891009 |Healthcare services (qualifier value)|

These are used for native mapping in EHR's and clinical data repositories like OMOP.

Minute:

Looked initially at occupations but these are not being added to in the International Edition as they are jurisdictionally specific and should be managed in extensions. Social Context

Discussed healthcare services and specialties but no changes at present agreed.

366214007 |Substance abuse (disorder)|

Is it possible to get to a solution on 66214007 |Substance abuse (disorder)|  and replacing this type of concept with - Substance use disorder (disorder) and subtypes that would include, harmful use, dependence, intoxication and withdrawal.  This would seem to be a change consistent with current practice.  Then we could have content of the type:

  • Substance use disorder (disorder)
  • Harmful pattern of use of X (disorder)
  • X dependence (disorder)
  • X withdrawal (disorder)
  • X intoxication (disorder)

We would at least have consistency for our users to aid translations and to inform the SNOMED community of practice.  This is content of high importance to our members.

Minute:

To be carried forward for discussion.  Substance use disorder is generally consistent across countries but other synonyms are rarely consistently used across countries.

4Meeting times and frequency

Discuss current schedule and possible need to modify to accommodate regular attendees.

Minute:

To be discussed with all participants as not everyone present on the call.
