CMAG 2018 Work Plan approved By CEO Don Sweete 2 March 2018


Describes the aims and objectives of the Content Managers Advisory Group (CMAG) throughout 2018.

Overall objectives

The main purpose of the Content Managers Advisory Group in 2018 is to provide SNOMED International with national perspectives on identified content topics and issues through provision of advice and feedback.  

Meetings

Teleconferences

Teleconferences will be held every month on the second Tuesday of the month, and alterations to timing of meetings will be notified in advance (within 2 working weeks)

Face-to-Face meetings

The Content Managers AG plans to meet at both SNOMED International Business meetings during the year.

April 2018 - London, UK

Provision of national input on the user impact of the SNOMED CT Editorial Advisory Group work items

The editorial decisions made by the SNOMED CT Editorial Advisory Group as identified by the Chair of the SNOMED CT Editorial Advisory Group.


Items will be raised as relevant over the course of the year. For each item raised the deliverable will be input and/or feedback as required within mutually agreed timeframes.Provision of input on the topic/s within set timeframes as agreed by the CMAG and the Chair of the SNOMED CT Editorial Advisory Group.

Work item:

Status April 2018 meeting: The current EAG focus is strategic and tactical, looking at internal structure issues e.g. context and coming up with a long term plan to manage this. CMAG input will not be required until later when the impact on countries needs to be considered.

Status: September 2018 - no change.

Provision of feedback on the restructured International SNOMED CT Editorial Guide.Feedback on the restructured International SNOMED CT Editorial Guide guided by the review critieria provided by SNOMED International.

Documented feedback in line with review critieria (to be developed) on the restructured International SNOMED CT Editorial Guide within a mutually agreed timeframe.

4Provision of national input on the user impact of the content changes from the QA pattern analysis work

Feedback on the impact on users of the changes to content with the correction of the following patterns:

  • Role group crossovers between two relationship pairs in different role groups
  • Role and role group anomalies in the distribution normal form related to partial crossovers and role group inconsistencies in the asserted subtype hierarchy

5Sharing of Member pre-release processes to support a common understanding and process improvements.Sharing of Member pre-release processes to support a collaborative understanding of what is being undertaken together with identification of potential opportunities to improve these processes at a Member level.
  1. Provision via a confluence page of the pre-release processes by interested Members.
  2. Documented analysis of the pre-release processes with sharing of the results with the CMAG and MF.
  3. A documented list of suggestions for improving the current processes to support Members activity in this area.

Communication

  • The Content Managers AG will enable two-way communication between the SNOMED International Content Team and its Members on areas relevant to SNOMED CT content development.
  • The primary routes for communications will be the Content Managers AG Confluence Space and AG Meetings.
  • Communications to the Content Managers AG will by default, be publicly accessible on the AG Confluence Space.
  • Information that is not for public view may also be shared on pages that are accessible to Content Managers AG members only. Requests for closed areas must be sent to cri@snomed.org prior to posting materials.

Criteria for measuring success

The key criteria for success of the Content Managers AG in 2018 will be related to the timely provision of advice and feedback to support the SNOMED International Content Development Roadmap and the 2018 Content Work Plan. The measures of success will relate to the achievement of the deliverables as set out in the 2018 activities section above.
