Table Of Contents

1 Introduction

SNOMED CT terminology provides a common language that enables a consistent way of indexing, storing, retrieving, and aggregating clinical data across specialties and sites of care.

The International Health Terminology Standards Development organisation (IHTSDO®), trading as SNOMED International maintains the SNOMED CT technical design, the content architecture, the SNOMED CT content (includes the concepts table, the descriptions table, the relationships table, a history table, and ICD mappings), and related technical documentation.

2 Background

This document provides a summarized description of the content changes included in the March 2018 release of the SNOMED Clinical Terms® Managed Service Denmark Extension package.

It will also includes technical notes detailing the known issues which have been identified (should any of these exist). These are content or technical issues where the root cause is understood, and the fix has been discussed and agreed, but has yet to be implemented.

This Denmark Extension package is dependent upon, and should therefore be consumed in conjunction with the SNOMED CT® January 2018 International Edition release.

2.1 Scope

This document is written for the purpose described above and is not intended to provide details of the technical specifications for SNOMED CT or encompass every change made during the release.

3 Content Development Activity

3.1 Summary

This release contains translation corrections and improvements to existing content as well as minor technical corrections made as a result of upgrading the extension to use the SNOMED CT® January 2018 International Edition release.

4 Technical notes

4.1 Known Issues

Known Issues are content or technical issues where the root cause is understood, and the resolution has been discussed and agreed but has yet to be implemented.  This can be due to a number of reasons, from lack of capacity within the current editing cycle, to the risk of impact to the stability of SNOMED CT if the fix were to be deployed at that stage in the Product lifecycle.

For the SNOMED CT Managed Service - Denmark Extension March 2018, there are no known issues.

  1. 2 Background first line: This document provides a summarized description of the content changes included in the September 2017 release .... I suppose it should be the March 2018 release.

I am not sure about the numbers in 3.2  New and Updated Content. I have not kept a complete record of my changes, but am pretty sure I have added more than one new concept. Just to mention a few, I know I have added Optometrist or optician clinic (environment), Cosmetic treatment clinic (environment), Consulting firm (environment), Alternative treatment clinic (environment) and Web-based care (environment). I think my total number of changes i 195, but as said have not kept a total list of types of changes.

    1. Hi Camilla Wiberg Danielsen

I've checked through the Delta files for you, and this looks like the number of changes for this release period:

      • 8 new concepts
      • 19 inactivated concepts
      • 459 new DA descriptions
      • 387 inactivated DA descriptions
      • 50 new EN descriptions
      • 34 inactivated EN descriptions

If that matches with your expectations then please feel free to use these numbers.  If not, you might be better off removing that section from the Release Notes altogether, as having a bit less information is usually better than having potentially incorrect information?

Once you've made a decision and edited the page, please let me know and I'll export the page to a PDF for you to use in your release.

      Thanks very much,

      Andrew

  2. Hi Andrew,

I cannot see how I can edit the page. Can you inform me how to edit or make these changes for me?

    1) Change September 2017 release > March 2018 release

    2) I agree with you that the information in paragraph 3.2 should go out. As I do not add any more specific info on which concepts we are talking about, I do not consider the numbers interesting for users. /Camilla

    1. Hi Camilla

Of course, you need to click on the "Edit" button at the top of this page, just to the left of "Save for later" - I agree it's not obvious how to do this, it's something everyone just has to get used to with Confluence!

I'm attaching a screenshot so you can see where the button is - it's just slightly to the right of centre in the top panel of options:

I hope that helps, please let me know if you still can't edit it and I'll make the changes for you - thanks,

      Andrew

  3. Sorry, but I do not have that button - so I probably do not have the same rights as you. /Camilla

  4. Hi Camilla

I've made the changes you requested, and I'm attaching the PDF to the MLDS repository so that you can use them in your release:

    https://mlds.ihtsdotools.org/#/releaseManagement/release/7589

Please let me know if you would like any more changes, or if you're happy with both the Release Notes and RF2 package and are going to proceed with your release?

    Thanks very much,

    Andrew
